The Beginning in Kozhikode
Panthakallam Avaran Koya Haji, our great-grandfather, began with a small tobacco shop and went on to become a respected trader, kerosene dealer, and FMCG distributor across the Malabar region.
ABOUT IMAX GOLD
IMAX GOLD is not merely a rice brand. It is a family legacy shaped by courage, trade, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality across generations.
Our journey began in 1916 with a modest tobacco shop in Kozhikode. From those humble beginnings grew a family enterprise that carried South India's spirit of entrepreneurship into regional trade, food essentials, and eventually the global rice market.
Today, IMAX GOLD carries forward that heritage through premium rice products trusted by families, chefs, retailers, and international buyers.
Panthakallam Avaran Koya Haji, our great-grandfather, began with a small tobacco shop and went on to become a respected trader, kerosene dealer, and FMCG distributor across the Malabar region.
During the Quit India movement, our family severed ties with a British company and launched Subaida Bar Soap. Its success across Malabar marked our first major step in building a homegrown regional brand.
Continuing the legacy of Salt Abdulla Koya, one of Kerala's largest salt merchants, Muhammed Basheer founded Varish Traders in Calicut's Big Bazaar, specializing in pulses and spices.
That entrepreneurial spirit evolved into IMAX GOLD and KYMA GOLD, rice brands associated with quality, consistency, and a deep understanding of South Asian food traditions.
OUR SPECIALITY
For a memorable Kozhikoden biriyani, exceptional rice is essential. Our finest Jeerakasala rice is sourced from West Bengal's Burdwan district, home to our IMAX agro products base. We age the rice in paddy for two years using a traditional method that enhances aroma, texture, and cooking performance.
While biriyani rice is our speciality, IMAX GOLD offers a broad range of rice varieties, food essentials, and export-quality non-basmati rice for customers across India, the Middle East, and African markets.
Every product reflects our belief that food staples should be pure, consistent, and worthy of the trust families place in them.
From everyday meals to family celebrations and grand feasts, IMAX GOLD rice is made to bring people together around tradition.
Our export journey carries South Asian food culture to international markets, especially the Middle East and African nations.
